Many people are confused with chiropractic and wonder what is the difference between chiropractic care, physical therapy, and massage therapy.

Simply put chiropractic focuses on finding and correcting spinal subluxations with gentle, precise and effective chiropractic adjusting techniques.

Physical therapy uses manual therapies as well as adjunctive therapies and exercise to correct muscle imbalance postural/ functional imbalances.

Massage therapy uses manual techniques to relax muscle tightness.

The above case is one which presented to me with chronic headache and neck stiffness.  She had exhausted all other treatment approaches such as chiropractic, physical and massage therapy and still had symptoms.

Her initial X-ray showed a reversed cervical curve with restricted range of motion. This cervical subluxation placed considerable tension to the neck and upper cervical spine.  Furthermore, her job consisted of sitting in front of a computer monitor most of the day.

She responded well to cervical adjustments as demonstrated in the X-ray on the right.  Her normal curve is restored and with the proper exercise, stretches and workplace set up she continues to experience no headaches.  Additionally, she has normal painfree cervical range of motion.

Not every case can guarantee these results but chiropractic care can often be very effective.   Other conditions which often respond favorably to chiropractic care are:

.Back pain

Heartburn

Headache

Vertigo

Bedwetting

Menstrual dysfunction

Bowel dysfunction

Make no mistake... We believe in all modalities and methods of care. Medical treatment, physical therapy, massage therapy, sports medicine ect.. all have value and merit.  Chiropractic is another tool for consideration.  Like your toolbox, you have several tools at your disposal ..Your health and well being are no less deserving
